about

It is sometimes thanks to pure coincidence that great things occur. In the case of FIREWÖLFE it was just such a coincidence that led to the formation of the band. With their 2011 debut the US band surprised and impressed the metal scene. FIREWÖLFE came up with a veritable soundtrack for fans of the 1980s L.A. Strip scene and combined it with musicianship of such an excellent class that is not often encountered. The tremendous reviews, which the album garnered was not only due to the strong songs, but also to the enthusiastic and refreshing way in which the album came across. With "We Rule The Night" the band continues on their path with determination, even adding a bit more power and presenting an album which grabs the listener from the word go. They have a lot of competition but FIREWÖLFE, featuring David Fefolt. (Masi, Angels of Babylon, Valhalla...), Jay Schellen (Badfinger, Unruly Child, Hurricane, Asia...), as well as Bobby Ferkovich (Presto Ballet, Power Train, Heir Apparent, Pamela Moore Band...), has much stronger traits, which raise them up above the masses and they will certainly not land on the ever-growing list of one-hit-wonders.

"We Rule The Night" sounds like a tribute to the great times of the Hollywood Strip and its countless legendary bands of the eighties. FIREWÖLFE are perfectly placed amongst the starry constellation of bands such as Icon, Rough Cutt, Dokken, Malice, Ratt and Eden, and combine that direction with a full blast of guitars. As far as vocals go, Fefolt comes across with a rawness similar to that of Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt). It is especially on powerful tracks as "Ready To Roll" and "Luck Of The Draw" that his taut, raw voice gives the songs an additional kick. The majority of the tracks are alive with all-embracing choruses, mid-tempo rhythms and the distinctive ingredients of the glorious eighties L.A. scene. Fans of that genre will simply lap up "We Rule The Night".

about

FireWölfe Vancouver, Washington

In 2020 founding member/guitarist Nick Layton and bassist Bobby Ferkovich (Metal Church) sought to put a new powerful version of FIREWÖLFE together after singer David Fefolt left the band. By recruiting Seattle based guitar shredder Michael David (TKO), virtuoso drummer Marco Bicca (Pamela Moore) and Las Vegas based vocalist Freddy Krumins (James Byrd’s Atlantis Rising), the band was finally set. ... more
